Hot diggity dog! Mama’s got a brand new blog!
Well, let me rephrase that. I have a blog. I mean, I don’t have a new blog in the sense that I have an old blog. Just that I’ve finally started a blog.
And I do not have a dog. No, no dogs here. Not that I dislike dogs or anything; it’s just that we have two cats, and before that we had three cats, and I’m pretty sure they are the kind of cats that would not allow us to have dogs in the same house.
Speaking of cats, let me tell you about the cat who made the trip over the Rainbow Bridge. She’s been on my mind a lot lately, for some reason, perhaps because I noticed I’d marked her birthday on the calendar: May 9, Roxie’s B-day.
Let me tell you, no cat ever had as much attitude as Roxie. Despite her ferocious face, she loved our little bambino and would spend hours sleeping next to him as an infant.
Bambino doesn’t remember his “Aunti Roxie” as we tenderly called her. I feel sad he won’t remember how she hopped on one arm of the rocking chair to be near him when he nursed. Snarky and full of cat-itude, Roxie was only full of love for Bambino.
Roxarina, I miss you. Some day maybe on this new blog, I’ll share the songs we made up for you. For now, here’s a picture of you to share with the world.
And really, I promise, this blog will NOT be all cat pics. There will definitely be some Catholic stuff written. And food stuff. And maybe some dog pics - ? – but they’re going to have to come from you, dear readers, because as I said, Mama’s cats have no truck with dogs in this house!
