The Bambino and I made a paper windsock and talked about the Holy Spirit. Since he's more into cutting with scissors than coloring, we shared the work of coloring and cutting the seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit in the shape of flames, and attached them to our windsock with ribbon and tape. He mostly enjoyed the tape part. Later we read about Pentecost from Acts, and made a little mini book about the Gifts. We talked about what the gifts meant, and how the Holy Spirit appeared as tongues of fire. The Bambino asked why fire was orange and yellow and sometimes a little blue, which of course, I had no answer for!
I remembered to ask D. after Mass on the car ride home, and his chemist's answer was that it was the ions burning. Okay...
I am linking up with Rosie for My Sunday Best, but I also want to put a plug in for the Marian ATC swap over at Pondered in My Heart. I participated last year and loved spending time making beautiful Marian art, and receiving other incredible ATCs in return. Go check it out, be inspired, and pick up a pen, pencil, or brush!
