So, in honor of the leaves FINALLY showing up (you don't believe me, do you? I'm serious about this, peeps. Our official "frost free" date for planting is Memorial Day. Yup. Anything earlier than that, and you might weep for the plants lost to frost.) --ANYWAY, this is all just to say that I dragged out a leaf green blouse today for Trinity Sunday. It finally felt like I could warrant some Spring-like attire. And our sweet tuxedo cat, Father Phobos, slouched into the photo shoot and wanted to show of his priestly attire. (You can't tell, but he has a little white furry band at his neck like a clerical collar!)
However, shortly after he concluded this conversation in the car, he fell fast asleep. And he stayed that way, even after being carried in from the car and nestled among couch pillows. A few hours later, after Sleeping Beauty awoke and I showed him I did not fit into his Hot Wheels, we did make it to the nursery, only to find a complete dearth of miniature wooden wheelbarrows. A six pack of strawberry plants came home with us instead. (I will be sure to keep those little strawberry plants safe and warm inside the house UNTIL the official frost free date, you can bet!)
We honored Trinity Sunday by having bacon blue cheese burgers for dinner (the trifecta at our house), and Neapolitan ice cream. The Bambino worked very hard at putting up three fingers and naming the three Divine Persons, and it was all together super adorable.
I am looking forward to the Feast of Corpus Christi next Sunday, and our procession around the cathedral parking lot. Nothing like it for amusing the locals! But more on being a silent witness for Christ in a future post...
